The moment you step onto the Lady Elliot Island, you know you have arrived somewhere special. Formed over 3000 years this beautiful coral cay is home to 57 species of birds, nesting sea turtles and a stunning underwater world of coral formations and diverse marine life. On Lady Elliot Island, you set the pace. You can bury your nose in a good book on a stretch of deserted beach, go diving with one of our qualified dive instructors, or explore the island and visit the main landmark, the Lady Elliot Island Lighthouse, one of the first built in Australia using a timber framed substructure and cast iron external cladding.

Accommodation
Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort offers four unique styles of accommodation - all exhibit a casual atmosphere - free of the usual distractions of working life - no TVs, radios or telephones.

Island Suites - These spacious units accommodate four people with separate bedroom and lounge areas. Facilities include tea/coffee making, mini bar fridge, air-conditioning and private bathroom. All linen supplied and changed every third day. These are located right on the beachfront.

Reef Units - Most of these units are furnished with a double and two bunk beds, making them ideal for families. Facilities include tea/coffee making, mini bar fridge and private bathroom. The majority of reef Units are less than 10 metres from the beach. All linen supplied and changed every third day.

Shearwater Rooms - Suitable for large families and groups of friends, Shearwater rooms can sleep up to six people in bunk-style single beds. All Shearwater rooms have private bathroom and wall fans. Rooms are set in the gardens, located approximately 30 metres from the beach. All linen supplied and changed every third day.

Tent Cabins - The permanent safari-style tents offer all the comforts of home with four bunk beds, polished timber floors, full power and lighting. All linen supplied and changed every third day.

Diving

Lady Elliot Island offers a great diversity of uncrowded, easily accessible dive locations to experience the biggest coral reef system in the world. At Lady Elliot Island, the dive staff personally escort all dives. Two dives are scheduled per day with optional night dives also available. The best part is that divers of all abilities are catered for. If this is your first time, you can try our "Discover Scuba Diver". That way you will not miss a breath taking opportunity to experience the many riches that lie at the bottom of the Great Barrier Reef.

Day Trips
Short on time - why not take a day trip from any of the mainland departure points to Lady Elliot Island - although once there you will probably wish you had stayed longer. The day trips include your snorkelling equipment, hot/cold buffet lunch, glass bottom boat tour or guided boat snorkel, fish feeding, guided reef walk (low tide) and 5-6 hours on the Island

Conferences and Weddings
Small Weddings and Conferences can be arranged for that special occasion.

Location and Transfers
Lady Elliot Island lies 80 kilometres north east of Bundaberg, and is easily accessible daily flights that land at the island's own airstrip. A limited number of guests are allowed on the island at any one time.

Flights are available daily (excluding Christmas and New Years day) from Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Brisbane (Redcliffe Airport), Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore Airport) and Gold Coast (Coolangatta Airport). Pickups can be arranged from most accommodation in Coolangatta, Brisbane and Maroochydore. Flights are now also available from Gladstone Thursdays to Mondays for both Day Trip Guests and guests wishing to stay at Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort overnight or for an extended period.
