Hayman is Australia's most celebrated private island destination, beautifully situated in the magnificent Great Barrier Reef and presenting an array of unique and memorable resort and Reef experiences. Hayman Island Resort is surrounded by idyllic coral fringed beaches and lapping the waters of the Coral Sea, on the south-western side of the island and offers 244 guest rooms, suites, penthouses and a beach villa. The accommodation, restaurants, guest service areas, marine facilities and operational plant, have been designed to blend in with the natural beauty of the surroundings. No part of the resort is higher than four stories and throughout, shady ponds and gentle waterfalls thread their way among beautiful gardens, spacious walkways and open air lanais.

Accommodation
Hayman presents resort living in 244 beautifully appointed rooms, suites, penthouses and a villa, situated in Pool, Palm, Lagoon and Beach Wings, all featuring private terraces or balconies.

The Pool Wing, comprising Pool Superior and Deluxe rooms and Pool Suites, overlooks the famous Hayman Pool and tropical gardens. Level 3 also offers views out to the Coral Sea and neighbouring Hook Island. This wing is ideal for guests wishing to be close to and enjoy views of the icon pool.

The Palm Wing, comprising Palm Superior rooms, is centrally located in the resort with excellent access to all facilities.

The Lagoon Wing, comprising Lagoon Superior and Deluxe rooms, Lagoon Suites and 11 Penthouses, overlooks the tranquil lagoon, tropical gardens and Lagoon Pool. Level 3 and 4 - the latter housing the resort Penthouses - also offer views out to the Coral Sea and neighbouring Hook Island. This wing offers larger rooms and suites than those in the Pool Wing.

The Beach Wing comprises Beach Front rooms and a private Beach Villa fronting Hayman Beach, and Retreat Rooms set back from the beach in tropical gardens. This wing is ideal for couples wishing to stay in boutique accommodation in tranquil surrounds.

Rooms and Suites
 Palm Superior - Centrally located on Levels 2 and 3 of the Palm Wing, above the Hayman Arcade and close to the famous Hayman Pool. The bathroom contains a shower only (no tub). These rooms do not offer sea views. The room area is 33.54 square metres.

Pool Superior - On Level 2 of the Pool Wing, overlooking the famous Hayman Pool and gardens. Each room has a generous balcony and spacious marble bathroom with a shower over the bath. The room area is 37.64 square metres.

Pool Access - On Level 1 of the Pool Wing, these rooms are uniquely located on the edge of the Hayman Pool and offer the ultimate Hayman experience. Each room provides direct access from the room's balcony straight into the pool. This room offers the same interior design as the Pool Superior room (see Pool Superior category under Rooms & Suites for interior shot). This includes a spacious marble bathroom with a shower located over the bath. The room area is 37.64 square metres.

Pool Deluxe - On Level 3 of the Pool Wing, overlooking the famous Hayman Pool, gardens, Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Special features include an open style contemporary bathroom with louvred shutters allowing stunning sea views from the bathroom. The bathroom also features a separate shower and bath. The room area is 37.64 square metres.

Pool Suites - On Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Pool Wing, overlooking the famous Hayman Pool and gardens. Suites on Level 3 also offer views of the Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Each suite has a separate bedroom, dressing room and lounge/dining room. Special features include a double balcony and large marble bathroom with separate shower and bath. The suite area is 75 square metres. An adjoining twin bedroom can be added to selected suites to create a two-bedroom suite.

Beach Front - Located in the Beach Wing, on the Hayman Beach, fronting the Coral Sea and adjacent to the famous Hayman Pool. An exclusive group of 10 absolute beachfront rooms, each has a private terrace extending onto the white sandy beach. Each room is appointed throughout with terracotta tiles and the bathroom contains a romantic double spa with separate shower. The room area is 32 square metres.

Retreat Room - In the gardens of the Beach Wing within 10 metres of the Hayman Beach. An exclusive group of 16 rooms, each has a strong relationship with the outdoors, and the tropical surrounds provide a lush canopy enveloping a verandah and outdoor rinse shower. The interior is a peaceful haven of natural tones and rich grained woods. Special features include a daybed and an open plan luxurious bathroom with a sunken bath that overlooks a private rockery garden with outdoor rainwater shower. The room area is 38 square metres.

Lagoon Superior - On Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Lagoon Wing, overlooking the Lily Lagoon, Lagoon Pool and gardens. Special features include a spacious bathroom with double vanity and open plan dressing room. The room area is 54 square metres.

Lagoon Deluxe - A select number of rooms that offer views of the Coral Sea, whilst overlooking the Lily Lagoon, Lagoon Pool and gardens. The interior includes a spacious bathroom with double vanity, open plan dressing room and en suite area. The room area is 54 square metres.

Lagoon Suite - On Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Lagoon Wing, overlooking the Lily Lagoon, Lagoon Pool and gardens. Suites on Level 3 also offer views of the Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Each of these luxurious suites has a separate bedroom, dressing room area, guest bathroom and lounge room. Décor reflects a relaxed resort feel, featuring soft, natural textures, cool marbles and rich, warm woods. A large balcony is furnished with an outdoor teakwood setting. Special features include a double balcony, spacious living/dining room, walk-in robe and open plan bathroom with centrepiece bath and double vanity. The suite area is 90 square metres. An adjoining twin bedroom can be added to selected suites to create a two-bedroom suite.

Penthouses and Villa
 French Penthouse - Classic Louis XVI and contemporary furnishings blend successfully in the elegant three-bedroom French Penthouse. Its stylish, understated décor depicts clear, sunshine colours, reminiscent of a villa in the south of France. Beautiful pieces include a 19th Century French marble fireplace, Venetian gilt mirror and pair of Louis XVI lamps.

English Penthouse - Designed in the style of a grand English country home, the two-bedroom English Penthouse is filled with the fresh colours of springtime, exquisite furnishings and antiques. The buttercup yellow and primrose blue floral design of the pure wool carpet, is echoed in a yellow stripe wallpaper with twist pattern border detail.

Lagoon Penthouse - The one and two-bedroom Lagoon Penthouses reflect a relaxed resort feel, featuring soft, natural textures, cool marbles and rich, warm woods. A large balcony is furnished with an outdoor teakwood setting.

Oriental Penthouse - Modern Japanese design sits easily among exotic treasures in the one-bedroom Oriental Penthouse. Pure wool Belgian carpets and raw silk wall coverings make a rich backdrop for fascinating antiques. Earthy shades of Jim Thompson silk are used for the bedroom upholstery. Chocolate silk scatter cushions lie on cream velvet settees and armchairs.

Italian Penthouse - The cool, clean lines of a Tuscan villa are recreated in the one-bedroom Italian Penthouse. All rooms share a light, airy feeling and have buff pink sandstone floors, stencil-finished walls and fine antique furnishings. Italian lemon silk is used generously in the bedroom on bed and furniture coverings.

Moroccan Penthouse - A Moorish influence prevails in the one-bedroom Moroccan Penthouse with the brilliant colours of the sea, a focal point. Against a rich backdrop, rare 19th Century pieces from North Africa inlaid with mother of pearl, ebony, ivory and silver wire, include a writing desk, wall mirror and smokers tables.

Queensland Penthouse - The relaxed ease of life in the tropics is reflected in the one-bedroom Queensland Penthouse. Hand-made timber furniture and the vibrant colours of the Great Barrier Reef, provide a rich backdrop for colonial collector pieces and a specially commissioned painting by leading Australian artist, Patrick Hockey.

Greek Penthouse - Reminiscent of a cliff-top villa overlooking the Mediterranean, the one-bedroom Greek Penthouse combines the warmth of terracotta with natural materials and fabrics. Grecian style and elegance predominate in the classic design of the living and dining areas, contrasted by the earthiness of rough rendered white walls and heavy timber doors.

Beach Villa - Situated on the Hayman Beach, overlooking the Coral Sea. This magnificent villa is unlike any other accommodation on Hayman, offering contemporary stylish beachfront living blending soft sand and marine hues, local timbers, woven rattan and natural furnishings.     Leisure Features
    Guests can enjoy a diversity of leisure activities within this world-acclaimed resort. There are numerous sporting pursuits, plus tours and classes - some going behind-the-scenes, and special places and activities for peace and solitude.

    Tennis is available on five floodlit courts, squash on two courts, golf on a nine-hole putting green and golf driving plus croquet, archery, table tennis, badminton, snooker and pool, all compliments of Hayman. The Activities Centre offers exercise regimes, personal training and fitness equipment and organises weekly sporting challenges and tennis clinics. Guests can also travel to the mainland for a round of golf at Laguna Whitsunday's 18-hole championship course.

    One of the largest pools in the Southern Hemisphere, the famous salt-water Hayman Pool surrounds the Pool Wing and incorporates a small heated freshwater pool. The heated freshwater Lagoon Pool is set among tropical gardens in the Lagoon Wing and has two spas nearby.

    The Hayman Beach, lapping the Coral Sea, hugs the resort and offers year-round swimming and catamaran sailing, windsurfing and paddle skiing, all complimentary. On the other side of the island, Blue Pearl Bay One (accessible by foot) and Blue Pearl Bay Two plus nearby Langford Spit (both accessible by speedboat) are ideal for snorkelling and picnic lunches.

    Complimentary tours, conducted by the Hayman team, include an educational Garden Tour of the lush landscape, Guided Island Walk into bushland to lookouts and beaches, and Kitchen Tour of the vast food preparation areas, Chocolate Room and acclaimed La Fontaine Wine Cellar. Guests can also learn the secrets of cocktail mixing and join regular culinary classes.

    New-release blockbusters are regularly screened in the Entertainment Centre, at no charge, and in-room pay movies are also available. The newsagency stocks a selection of CDs for loan. Guests may borrow books from the library in The Club Lounge. Popular board games are available for loan from the newsagency.

    The Hayman Arcade houses boutiques, showcasing the latest in day and evening wear and accessories by leading local and international designers, plus a jeweller, display of artworks, newsagency and photographic supplier and developer.

    Hayman's beautiful setting in the Great Barrier Reef presents opportunities to enjoy a range of adventures in the waters lapping the island and journey on private or scheduled tours to nearby beaches and other fabulous Reef locations. The Marine Centre operates a fully accredited 5-Star PADI Dive and Snorkel Centre, and offers game and bottom fishing trips and private charters, plus exciting water sport pursuits from the Hayman Beach and into the Reef surrounds. (All marine activities are subject to change due to weather conditions.)

    The waters surrounding Hayman provide some of the best fishing in the world, with Australian and international records continually established in the region. The Marine Centre conducts escorted half and full day game and bottom fishing trips as well as private charters. The 12.5 metre game fishing boat, Sun Aura, features a spacious deck to allow smooth, quick and easy access to fishing tackle. Charters include hire, equipment, bait and fuel. Fishing charters are available on selected days and are subject to boat availability and weather conditions.

    Children's Facilities
    Hayman has heaps of fun and exciting activities happening at Hernando's Hideaway, an exquisite cottage nestled in the gardens near the marina. This special place is home to the Kids Club and Crèche and welcomes young visitors up to the age of 12. Babysitting services are also available in the resort. And, look out for the special two-course Kids Menus in Hayman's restaurants which have been designed just for you and offer healthy and nutritious food.

    Head to the Kids Club if you're aged 5 to 12 years. It's open from 9.30am to 12.30pm mornings, 2.00pm to 5.00pm afternoons and, during Australian School Holidays, it is also open in the evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. If you're aged 6 weeks to 5 years, the Crèche is the place for you. We want to make sure you have fun on Hayman, while Mum and Dad relax in the knowledge that you are in a happy and safe environment. The Crèche is licensed by the Department of Families, Youth and Community Care and is open from 9.30am to 5.00pm for you to enjoy outdoor games in your own playground plus fun puzzles and other exciting activities. There is a charge for your visit to the Crèche and this cost is inclusive of meals and disposable nappies. A charge applies to each session. If you or other young ones in your family need babysitting, Mum and Dad can book a babysitter during your stay. The costs will vary according to how many children are in your family.

    The most convenient way of travelling to Hayman is via Great Barrier Reef Airport (Hamilton Island) where Hayman's launches, seaplanes and helicopters connect with all incoming and outgoing commercial flights.
