Australian Eco Adventures

Day 1: Sydney - Coolah
Departing from Sydney we head north across the Hawkesbury River and out through National Parks where we stop at a peaceful overlook for morning tea and a chat about the whole itinerary. Continuing on we stop at a boutique Hunter Valley winery for a tasting. After travelling through Denman we stop at Merriwa for lunch then through Cassilis on the way to Coolah Tops National Park. After a steep drive up we enjoy the breathtaking forests, spellbinding waterfalls and views across the fertile Liverpool Plains. This evening we spend time with the farm owners at a delightful sheep and cattle property where kangaroos, wallabies and emus roam freely on the farm. We learn about the country life and enjoy a very social evening over a home cooked meal, along with some great wine.

Day 2: Coolah - Coonamble
This morning we are taken on a farm inspection plus can participate in farm work depending on clients wishes. Mid morning we depart for Coonabarabran for morning tea and spend time exploring the rugged beauty of one of New South Wales’ most impressive parks, Warrumbungle National Park. The next few days also provide a great chance to see native Australian animals in the wild, including kangaroos, koalas and wallabies. This afternoon we travel on unsealed roads to Coonamble, then on to Macquarie Marshes where prolific birdlife occupy the area year round. Tonight we spend an evening with our hosts at Thurn, another working sheep and cattle station.

Day 3: Coonamble - Mudgee
Our property inspection this morning introduces alternative farming techniques which have enabled this property to become viable in otherwise marginal land. We depart mid-morning and head south east, travelling through Gilgandra where we stop for lunch then on for a stop at Dunedoo. In the afternoon we enjoy tasting some of the Mudgee regions premium wines before arriving at our overnight in Mudgee.

Day 4: Mudgee - Sydney
This morning we make our way out through lush farmland to Wollemi National Park, a stop at Dune’s Swamp then on through Gardens of Stone National Park.
