Australian Eco Adventures

Day 1: Sydney - Jindabyne
Departing from the Sydney we head south with our first stop at Berrima and a tour of Australia’s best preserved Georgian settlement. Enjoy a brief visit and lunch at the National Capital Exhibition to learn of the history and development of Canberra and to look across the lake to the parliamentary precinct. We enter snow gum mountain territory through Namadgi National Park and a view high country cattleman’s hut, Brayshaws, for an afternoon break before continuing on to the township of Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountain foothills. Our overnight stop is at Snowy Wilderness where the owners lay out the welcome mate and entertain us with a mountain style cook-up on the fire followed by the movie “The Man from Snowy River”.

Day 2: Jindabyne - Gippsland Lakes
This morning we experience the thrill of a 4WD adventure on mountain tracks as we explore this wilderness property and see the magnificent wild brumby horses. We then travel into the high country and through the Snowy River Valley to gain magnificent valley and mountain views. We stop for lunch and at Buchan, a quaint village on the Victoria end of Snowy River Valley. After lunch our route takes us through farming and forest country to Marlo where the Snowy River meets the ocean. Next we travel onto Lakes Entrance, the gateway for ocean-going vessels to access the Gippsland Lakes, the largest navigable inland waterway in Australia and finally to Metung for the evening.

Day 3: Gippsland Lakes - Melbourne
We start the day following the Princes Highway through rich farming country around Bairnsdale to Sale. We continue via Yarram for another highlight of the day - a visit to Wilsons Promontory National Park, the most southern point of mainland Australia, with jaw dropping views across Bass Strait and a great chance to spot kangaroos, emus, wombats and wallabies. Finally, we head into Melbourne, arriving at approximately 4-5pm.

Note: Tour can run in either direction, i.e. Sydney to Melbourne, or Melbourne to Sydney

Inclusions: Luxury touring as per itinerary, 1 night accommodation at Snowy Wilderness and 1 night accommodation at Moorings at Metung, breakfast x 2, lunch x 3, and dinner x 2, National Park fees.
Departures: Daily from all Sydney City Hotels at 7:30am and concludes in Melbourne at approx 4:00-5:00pm on day 3.
