RETURN TO WHALE WATCH CRUISES
Quick Cat II

While Whale watching is conducted in a number of locations on the Eastern Coast of Australia, Hervey Bay on the beautiful Fraser Coast has been named ‘The Whale Watch Capital of Australia’. Brian and Jill Perry, owners of Quick Cat II were the first commercial whale watch operators in Australia and today still continue to provide the opportunity for visitors to venture in to the calm waters on the inside of Fraser Island July to November each year to witness the Humpback Whale in its natural habitat.

Quick Cat II as the name suggests is a large, fast, stable platform from which to view the whales.

Quick Cat II carries the least amount of passengers of any vessels in its size so you will have more room to move and to take those spectacular photos.

Quick Cat II has been designed for easy and safe access for both able bodied and disabled passengers.

Quick Cat II is the only vessel with pram and wheelchair access right round the main deck including the foredeck.

Quick Cat II has easily accessible decks from low close to the water rear deck where the whales can come so close that you can almost touch them, to the fly bridge deck where you can take in the beautiful scenery and look out on the whales, dolphins and turtles.

Quick Cat II offers plenty of cabin area for passengers to lounge around in on the return trip, or to enjoy a beverage at the end of an exhilarating day.

Quick Cat II is fully licensed with a well-stocked kiosk including beers, wine, spirits and soft drinks.

Quick Cat II has underwater viewing with cameras so passengers can watch the whales both on top and under the water at the same time, therefore not missing any of the action.

Quick Cat II has extended rear decks which will have you closer to the action.

Quick Cat II has an upper deck awning for protection from the sun and rain.

Quick Cat II has an upper sky deck! You can now access the wheelhouse roof for that "birds eye view" of the whales and surrounding area. This new deck is a first not only for Hervey Bay but also Australia. This gives Quick Cat II a total of four decks to view the whales and dolphins giving everyone on board much more room.

Quick Cat II offers a very personal, face to face and educational whale watching trip. On Quick Cat II although the crew can offer information and give a very informative service they like to see passengers becoming involved and engrossed in the whole once in a lifetime close and personal experience with the mighty Humpback Whales and babies.

Underwater Viewing
While Humpback whales spend a lot of time on the surface they also spend most of their time under the water. Being able to see these giants under the surface is an awe inspiring sight. Over the years Brian and Jill have developed underwater cameras that are not restricted to an area around the vessel, but can track the whale right to the ocean floor. Live to air vision is beamed direct to on board monitors that allow passengers to view the action both on the surface and below the vessel at the same time. This vision is recorded live and available on video and CD for purchase at the end of each cruise.
