With our luxury new vessel we have features like 240v power, access to hot food, wi-fi and faster sailing and motoring speeds. We will still cater for 24 passengers and have multi-lingual crew on board to assist our international guests.

Blue Dolphin Marine Tours is Hervey Bay's truly unique Whale Watch experience. During the months of August, September and October the Southern Humpback whale makes it's annual stop over in the calm waters of Platypus Bay on the western side of World Heritage Listed Fraser Island. It is here that you can see these magnificent mammals at their best and what better way than on the largest sailing vessel in Hervey Bay's whale watch fleet. Take your time, slow down and enjoy a day to see the whales feeling unthreatened and frolicking in their natural environment. Blue Dolphin Cruise Options 1. Blue Dolphin Full Day Whale Watching Tour Season: Late July to Early November Times: Departs the Hervey Bay Marina at 7.30am and returns approx 3.30pm. On board Blue Dolphin you are well away from the large noisy crowd usually associated with whale watch encounters. Survey for the boat is 30 passengers but we limit numbers to 24 for passenger comfort. By limiting the number of passengers it allows for you to have a more personal relationship with the whales, dolphins and the crew, which is necessary for a true eco-tourism experience. Blue Dolphin cruises at approximately 7 - 8 knots motoring - greater with wind speed. The cruise is a full day with morning and afternoon tea and lunch provided. The vessel is also fully licensed serving wine, beer and pre-mixed spirits.

Season: Mid November to Early July Times: Departs the Hervey Bay Marina at 8.00am and returns approx 12.00 hours. Cruise the calm waters of the Great Sandy Strait on our morning marine tour. We look for Bottlenose dolphins, Indo-pacific humpback dolphins, dugongs and turtles. With Blue Dolphin, our sailing vessel and low numbers of passengers you get an up close and personal experience that is also very environmentally friendly. The tour with Blue Dolphin is for 4 hours and includes morning tea. During the summer months if the weather permits we stop for a swim and sail after having the chance to view dolphins.

Season: Mid November to Early July Times: Departs the Hervey Bay Marina at 5.00pm and returns approx 6.30pm. For the perfect way to end a busy day join us aboard the luxurious Blue Dolphin for pre-dinner drinks. Then quietly depart the Hervey Bay Marina and sip champagne as the sun sets over the waters of the Great Sandy Strait. Enjoy 90 minutes of relaxing sailing and great company whilst sampling a delicious finger food platter. The Blue Dolphin Sunset Cruise includes your champagne, beer or wine and soft drinks and orange juice are also available. This cruise is a great way to wind down after a day exploring Fraser Island or an even better way to start your evening with a group of friends.
