Three generations of the O'Reilly Family have seen many faces come and go. Today you will find the family still on hand to welcome guests with their special brand of country hospitality. The toast is cooked at breakfast each day by a member of the family or senior management, and is a tradition that has evolved over many years. It gives them the chance to say hello and ask you what you have got planned for the day... (it's also a nice warm spot on crisp winter mornings).

O'Reilly's Rainforest Guesthouse Accommodation
O'Reilly's offers a range of guestrooms to cater to all tastes, from the grandeur of the luxurious Canopy Suites through the most popular Mountain View Rooms to the simple yet comfortable Garden View. Most rooms also take advantage of the magnificent mountain views.

Two Bedroom Canopy Suites

One of the former O'Reilly family homes has been transformed into two stunning guest units. The two units are simply referred to as "Vince" and "Lona" who as second-generation family members raised their ten children in the house and contributed so much to the guesthouse for over 40 years. Each unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate living room and two way fireplace. The large decks, complete with private spa bath, look out onto the rugged McPherson ranges to the west and provide uninterrupted views of the most magical of sunsets. Polished timber floors, cedar shutters and handcrafted Queensland Maple furniture complement the warmth and character of the building. A mini bar and stereo in the living area add the final touches. The main bedroom of each boasts a spectacular king-size four poster bed and is fully ensuited. The bedroom also has direct access to the spa located on the outside deck. The second bedroom features a king size ensemble bed that can be transformed into two large single beds if required.

One Bedroom Canopy Suite
Three suites adjoin the luxuriant rainforest canopy and offer twice the space of our standard Mountain View rooms. A comfortable living area features recycled timber flooring, lounge chairs, audio system, library and bar. The suites have four large balconies with spectacular views of the rainforest foliage and western mountain ranges.

A spacious bedroom features a king-size four-poster bed, sofa and a warming fireplace. To top it all off the bathroom has a spa bath with views through a full-length picture window of the breathtaking mountain scenery. Put yourself in this picture!

Mountain View Rooms
All Mountain View Rooms boast a private balcony where you can relax and soak up the magnificent views to the McPherson ranges. O'Reilly's most popular style of room, the spacious high-set rooms feature exposed beams, natural timbers and raked ceilings. Most rooms contain a queen and single bed, whilst six family rooms also contains additional bedding for two extra guests, and two are equipped for wheelchair occupation.

Garden View Rooms
These motel style rooms feature red cedar shutters, hand crafted Queensland maple furniture and timber queen sized beds. All six rooms have views of the gardens around the guesthouse.

O'Reilly's Mountain Villas - The Ultimate Nature Escape

A new era has dawned for O'Reilly's with the opening of O'Reilly's Mountain Villas, a $35 million village of 48 luxury 2 & 3 bedroom, self contained, rainforest & mountain villas set amongst the natural beauty of Lamington National Park. These luxury villas provide the perfect nature escape offering private, spacious and contemporary accommodation designed to connect with the natural surroundings. The two bedroom villas sleep up to 7 guests and the three bedroom villas sleep up to 9 guests; with a King Bed (splits into 2 x Full Single beds) in each bedroom, and a Queen Sofa and Single Day Bed in the Living Area.

Dining at O'Reilly's

The heart and soul of O'Reilly's. The dining room presents wonderful food and wine with a cheerful atmosphere. Recount your day's adventures with fellow guests and plan the days ahead over a hearty meal. Share your dining experience with the nature of Lamington National Park, at breakfast and lunch you will find masses of colour in the bay windows as the regent and satin bowerbirds come in for a meal. At night you will be able to spot the mountain brushtail possums and sometimes even a sugar glider or two. For those wishing to hit the trails and spend the day exploring nature, you won't go hungry. The O'Reilly's chefs will make you up a delicious packed lunch, including a thermos of water for tea or coffee and away you go. If you're not too keen on the hiking side of things, but still want to get outdoors, you can get a gourmet picnic basket to go. Enjoy the jovial relaxed atmosphere of the Guesthouse's favourite meeting place. The Rainforest Room is the licensed Bar with an all timber interior and large verandah overlooking the mountains with views that go on forever and a lovely warming fireplace (which has even been known to be roaring on Christmas day). The Irish cocktail hour goes from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and all cocktails are half price. Have a drink at the bar, relax at a table or take in the spectacular sunset from the verandah. The Rainforest Room also offers a light meal menu for lunch and dinner. Mountain Cafe caters mainly to day visitors (but also available to houseguests). Gran's offers a delicious menu of homestyle meals, with a wide beverage selection. There is also a takeaway section for tasty snacks. Enjoy a light breakfast or lunch, sit on the extensive balcony with a glass of wine and gaze at the magnificent views!

Lounge and Library
O'Reilly's Log Fire Lounge Room and Library has a large open fireplace that beckons during the cooler weather. Grab something to read from the Library's range of natural history and general reading books and curl up in a comfy chair in front of the fire. For musical buffs there is a lovely baby grand piano to play while everyone sings along. Browse through the Family Albums, past visitors' books and remember to sign your name in them while you are there.

Games Room
The Games Room is equipped with a pool table and table tennis table, but is more importantly headquarters for the Scrub Club, our children's activities club. You can also borrow board games from reception to enjoy in the games room.

Relaxation
Energise yourself at the Spa. Relax in our heated plunge pool, sauna or hot tub after your day's adventures. To really unwind why not try an aromatherapy massage to sooth those aching muscles. There's even a children's wading pool, so the whole family can enjoy the spa area.

Nature Activities
While you are at O'Reilly's Guesthouse, join the nature based or guided rainforest activities program, the Discovery Program. There are a wide range to choose from such as 4WD Bus Trips, interpretive rainforest walks, Flying Fox rides, Nightly Audio-Visual Presentations and Documentaries, Evening Spotlighting Walks and the ever-popular Glow Worm Walks.

The Scrub Club

Scrub Club is a fun creative way for children aged 5 and over to spend their time at O'Reillys. Children's activities run every weekend and school holidays. They are based on environmental education concepts that incorporate learning about the rainforest and it's weird and wonderful inhabitants with fun games, arts and crafts. All activities have been designed with the children's safety in mind and while participating, the children are supervised at all times by the Scrub Club Attendant. O'Reilly's have recently developed a full range of new activities, which combined with the old favourites ensure a fantastic time is had by all. Frog and Friends, Things that Bite and Sting, Feathered Friends and the Good Old Days will keep the children informed and entertained. Of course we have the ultimate adventure and favourite activity The Flying Fox, where the children are strapped into a harness linked to a pulley for a 180m flight through the air. This activity is run every second day during school holidays but is weather dependent.

While O'Reilly's have 'normal' conference facilities - most conference organisers tend not to go for this option - instead opting for the opportunity to remove their team from the constraints and distractions of every day life in the business world and inject some natural inspiration.

The absence of in-room telephones and televisions may be a shock at first, however the benefits soon show in focussed clarity of mind and real person to person communication. Location
O'Reilly's is located in the Lamington National Park - 2 hours by road south of the City of Brisbane and 1½ hours by road west of the Gold Coast. Transfers can be arranged from Brisbane or the Gold Coast to O'Reilly's Rainforest Guest House as part of your package.

The Lamington National Park is home to a vast array of unique flora and fauna. Pademelons, gliders and possums, frogs and the amazing array of birdlife make O'Reilly's a nature lover's paradise.
