The Chapel: A taste of country elegance - the perfect setting for that perfect excuse

Just imagine - This romantic sandstone chapel disguises a luxury, split-level cottage within. A different ambience is created by cathedral ceilings, Gothic windows and etched peach lead lights by designer Peter Heldon. The loft bedroom is home to the beautiful, carved, four poster cedar bed handed down through generations of the Cox family. Other treasured antiques and tapestries live there too. Downstairs finds antique silver, crystal and china to add that touch of 'Olde Worlde' romance to your special dinner party for two, which you have prepared, at your leisure in your handcrafted gourmet country kitchen of Jarrah and Granite. Of course, there is a log fire, cosy sofa and an antique dining suite. A few more steps downstairs, the sunken heated spa pool awaits. Set in mosaic terracotta, you can relax amongst the bubbles as you gaze out over the valley. Cedar and glass doors keep you cosy in winter and in touch with nature. In the warmer months, throw open the doors to your own private deck beneath a shaded pergola - just the spot for that champagne breakfast, al fresco.

Talawahl Eco Lodge

Rejuvenate the soul, rekindle your relationship or relax with the family, in the latest addition to Clarendon Forest retreat – “the well being” Talawahl Eco Lodge. The 3 bedroom architect designed Lodge is suitable for families or two couples, and is pet friendly. Purpose built and environmentally friendly, constructed from mud brick and recycled timbers. The Lodge overlooks spectacular views of the valley and the 3 acre lily filled lagoon. Set amongst rainforest inspired gardens and rockeries providing you with privacy, space and tranquility. The Lodge is furnished luxuriously with all the comforts of home plus more: The master bedroom upstairs has a recycled timber sleigh bed, queen size, scattered with rich gold and cream cushions. The ensuite is understated elegance, of minimalism style, with crisp white tiles and a blue stone rock wall as a feature of the shower. The spacious open plan living area with large glass windows allows the outside, in. Cuddle up in comfort in gorgeous recycled hand made lounges. A magnificent blue stone rock wall is a feature of this room along with a flat screen television, DVD and cosy log fire for the cool winter months. The spacious verandah wraps itself around the lodge, providing an entertaining area with a table setting for up to 12 people or private sitting areas to relax and read a book or soak up the picturesque valley views. The verandah area enables this cottage to be pet friendly with gates to keep your beloved pooch safe and protected from the elements. Hand crafted recycled timber kitchen with state of the art modern contemporary appliances, is fit for any budding 'Jamie Oliver,' and comes equipped with stainless steel fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and stylish crockery for a setting of up to 12 people. The handcrafted table is quite a work of art. The private heated spa pool, featuring waterfall and massage jets is set on the verandah. It provides you with 180 degree views of the forest and rolling hills. Exclusive use of the hand crafted stone barbecue, great for outdoor entertaining and dining in the summer months. The Teenagers Retreat! Downstairs are two bedrooms each appointed with 2 x single beds and a 3 way bathroom. A rumpus room with television, DVD player and lounge is perfect for the kids to enjoy their space.

No 1 - Water Lily

Escape with your family to this luxury comfortable 3 bedroom country cottage. Water Lily is a Pioneer Cottage set in native gardens, overlooking the serene valley and a 3 acre lily filled lagoon, stocked with growing Australian Bass. Enjoy the large balcony entertaining area with magical views of horses grazing in the valley. Privacy, Peace, Romance, and Intimacy are yours in this boutique holiday chalet at Clarendon Forest Retreat. Water Lily Cottage is furnished luxuriously with all the comforts of home: a spacious open living area, indoor dining setting to seat 6 people and a stunning outdoor dining experience on your private balcony with a timber table setting for 6 persons. The mezzanine loft with Cathedral ceilings and exposed timber beams features a King Size Bed, with a further two bedrooms downstairs boasting brass and cedar beds, one room with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The fully equipped kitchen includes: dishwasher, microwave oven and full size fridge and freezer. All linen and towels are provided. A large cosy log fire keeps the cool winter nights away, and for comfort in the hotter summer months you have the pleasure of an air-conditioned cottage. You have your own luxurious heated spa pool for your exclusive use. Set in the deck, it provides you with 180 degree views of the forest and rolling hills. The extended verandah is covered and fenced with marine wire with childproof gate around the spa. Full laundry facilities are provided in your cottage.

No 2 - Blue Wren

Blue Wren Chalet is the sister cottage to Water Lily. Although the outlook is similar the two cottages are spaced well apart and you can enjoy the serenity and privacy of this beautiful property from either. Blue Wren is a quaint Pioneer Cottage set in beautiful native gardens, overlooking the valley and a tranquil lily filled lagoon. It offers a boutique home away from home to relax, unwind and distress and possibly enjoy some quality family time. Blue Wren cottage is open plan living with timber the feature. The cottage is luxuriously furnished, offers a spacious lounge and dining area, beautiful exposed beam high cathedral ceilings and all the comforts of home. The kitchen is compact offering plenty of bench space for preparing designer meals. All utensils and equipment required for Chef’s duties are provided including refrigerator, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Blue Wren features 1 x queen size bedroom, 1 x double and the third room has 2 x single beds. This is ideal for two couples traveling together or a family group. Two of the bedrooms boast brass or cedar beds and a mezzanine loft and the third queen room is downstairs. All high quality linen and towels are provided. Curl up beside the large log fire with a glass of wine to keep the cool winter nights away. Of course in the warmer summer months you will enjoy the comfort of this beautiful air-conditioned cottage. You have your own luxurious heated spa pool for your exclusive use. Set on the deck, it provides you with 180 degree views of the forest and rolling hills. Coates Road, Possum Brush Via Taree, New South Wales
Clarendon is located 3 hours north of Sydney on the inland side of the Pacific Highway. Clarendon is less than half an hour away from Taree and Forster. Upon turning off the highway, signs reassure you that you are approaching Clarendon.

From Sydney turn Left onto Possum Brush Road 8 kilometres north of Nabiac. (10 Minutes from Highway).

From Brisbane turn Right (just after pet motel) 15 kilometres south of the Southern Taree exit and follow signs to Clarendon (10 Minutes from Highway).

From overseas, fly into Sydney Airport to connect with a flight to Taree. There are usually 2-3 flights each day.

Helicopter transfers are available from Port Macquarie.
