The Hunter Resort is set on 70 acres and is surrounded by our very own vineyards. The Helé family have owned and operated the resort for 13 years taking care and pride in establishing this small hotel with professional meeting and conference facilities. We offer the complete Wine Country experience all at one place. They understand the business of looking after their guests and offer high quality accommodation, excellent cuisine options, tennis, a large outdoor pool and heated spa, mountain bikes or guests may take a walk on the 3 kilometre jogging track for those energetic soles.

Accommodation
The Hunter Resort Country Estate offers comfortable accommodation for families, groups or individuals in quiet and peaceful surroundings in the famous Hunter Valley vineyards area. All 35 rooms feature timber cathedral ceilings complemented by solid timber furniture and are designed with floor to ceiling double glass doors opening out onto their own covered balcony. We have 4 styles of accommodation available - our Hunter Rooms and Vineyard View Rooms are close to the centre of the action near the pool, reception and other facilities. We also have spa rooms designed for that romantic weekend or midweek break - equipped with a 2-person spa as well as spacious 2 bedroom cottages ideal for family groups and able to accommodate up to 6 people.

Hunter Room - maximum 4 guests
This room has views of the surrounding Hunter wine country. These rooms feature timber cathedral ceilings, full size bath, private balcony overlooking the Wine Country offering superb views, queen size bed and either a double sofa bed or 2 single beds.

Vineyard View Room - maximum 2 guests
This room has a king size bed with fluffy white doona/duvet, full size bath tub, timber cathedral ceilings and private balcony nestled within the resort's own 35 year old vineyards, with views to the Brokenback Ranges.

Spa Rooms (maximum 2 guests) - are perfect for couples, located in their own cottages this room type offers more space and privacy. The spa room has its own kitchenette with sink and microwave, king size bed with fluffy white doona/duvet, video recorder and television, a double spa bathtub and separate shower. The private balcony offers views overlooking the resort's own vineyards, surrounding countryside and the Brokenback Ranges.

Two Bedroom Cottage (maximum 6 guests) - offers more space and privacy for two couples or a family group. The large private balcony has views over the surrounding vineyards and countryside. The cottage has its own kitchenette with sink and microwave, video recorder and remote control television, dining room and living room with seating for six people and, radio/CD/cassette player.

In one bedroom there is a king size bed (can be split into twin beds) and a queen size bed in the other room with a double sofa bed in the living room. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite with full size bathtub and shower.

The acclaimed chef, meticulously sources the premium of local produce for our innovative menu. And our wine list is one of the Hunter's most extensive.

San Martino (St Martin) is the patron Saint of Churchgoers, Winemakers, and the protector of all drinkers. All are most welcome at San Martino Restaurant. Open 7 nights for dinner. Experience one of Wine Country's better restaurants. The restaurant features a glass fronted air-conditioned wine cellar offering an extensive range of wines available by the glass, bottle or magnum.

Next door to San Martino is the Bluetongue Brewery - ideal for a cleansing ale after a hard days wine tasting! Also available for private groups is the Reidel Private Dining Room.

Cellar Tastings and The Winery
The winery is by far the largest and most advanced in the Hunter Valley. Our Wine Tasting Cellars are open every day, to let you try the fruits of our labour...With an annual crush of some 6,500 tonnes of grapes, the winery produces around six million litres of wine a year!

Not to be missed is the daily comprehensive winery tour, to experience how wine is actually made.... right from grapevine to bottle! This tour is followed by an informative, private wine tasting with our Cellarmaster. All groups are given a complimentary tour of the winery and private wine tasting.

Weddings
Hunter Resort in the Hunter Valley is the perfect choice for your romantic wedding in a picture-book setting amongst the vines. Our on-site facilities are ideal for all wedding and reception requirements, including accommodation for friends and family. Hunter Resort Country Estate boasts no less than a choice of three venues for your most special and intimate day - your wedding - The Hermitage, The Winemakers Room and Café San Martino.

The Winemakers Room can seat up to 60 guests. Or 40 guests with a dance floor. This venue is air-conditioned and heated.

Entry to The Hermitage is via a beautiful wooden bridge over a dam with running water, making a perfect setting for the wedding ceremony and/or photographs.

The main function area seats up to 200 guests. There is a huge open fireplace, terracotta floors, large bar area and the facility is fully air-conditioned and heated to ensure a comfortable atmosphere any time of year.

Café San Martino is adjoining to our Hermitage Restaurant and can seat up to 50 guests. This venue is also air-conditioned and heated.

The tables can be of square configuration and seat either 8 or 10 guests. Tablecloths and napkins are damask linen and included in the costing as is waiter service, cutlery, crockery and glassware. However, if you prefer, we can arrange round tables for either 8 or 10 guests at an additional cost. There is a room charge if the wedding function extends over 5 hours.

Hunter Resort Country Estate Cooking School
If you have enjoyed the food - and you will - perhaps you would like to learn some of the secrets? The Hunter Valley Cooking School has regular classes. Join the highly qualified and widely experienced head chef and Wine Educator for your classes. They take you on a visit to the Binnorie Cheese Factory where you will experience a private tasting. Then it is back to their purpose built Cooking School Kitchen with Library and Wine Cellar attached.

This is a hands on class and all dishes are cooked from scratch using local organic produce. Recipes are provided and the dishes cooked are eaten for Lunch. The Lunch usually consists of a three course lunch with an additional course of Binnorie Cheese.

Hunter Valley Wine School
The hour long Hunter Valley Wine School promises an education of wine. Walk through the vineyard and learn how and why a grapevine grows. Then it's off to the crusher and into the Winery. See the huge vats, the Potter Tanks, the filtration equipment and the largest Rotovat in the Hunter. From there, the tour then moves through into the Cask Hall and on into the Wine Tasting Cellars. Then there is the structured wine tutorial to conclude your tour.

You might like to broaden your wine knowledge by taking a short, half-day course at the on-site Hunter Valley Wine School starting daily at 9am and taking in all aspects of what actually goes on behind the scenes and why various wines taste the way they do - a more in depth and intense study to enlighten and educate you to help you appreciate the whole industry.
