Accommodation at Alpine Retreat Ski Lodge
Alpine Retreat Ski Lodge sets a very high standard of hotel-quality accommodation consisting of private rooms with ensuite facilities. All rooms have a refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, television, and a hair dryer. All linen is supplied and rooms are serviced daily for your convenience.

A guest laundry, drying room, ski and luggage storage facility are provided for hotel guests. Apartments are available on a request basis. Group bookings do attract a discount rate. Continental breakfast is included in the room rate with the opportunity to upgrade to a full skiers breakfast.

The Alpine Retreat Ski Lodge has the advantage of offering guests the convenience of an on property ski/ snowboard and clothing hire facility based on very affordable rates.

Dining at Alpine Retreat
With a cocktail bar and a great a la carte menu, this venue offers one of the best value three-course meals on Mt Buller. Perfect for the family, Alpine Retreat has an inviting open fireplace and views across Chamois to the spectacular Bluff. Lamb Shanks are the house speciality.

Mt Buller Kids Club
Mt Buller guests can enrol their children in a creche once again this season. The Buller Kids’ Centre is in the Ski and Snowboard School and caters for children aged from three months to three years. Located at the rear of the Ski and Snowboard School building, on Bourke Street, the Buller Kids’ Centre has morning, afternoon and all-day sessions.

Children enrolled in the crèche will enjoy a wide range of indoor activities including art and crafts, story time and music activities allowing the adults to enjoy maximum time on the slopes.

Full day: 8.30am – 4pm Half day AM: 8.30 – 1pm Half day PM: 1pm– 4pm Places are limited and bookings are essential. Pre-payment is required to secure a place

Mt Buller
Mt Buller caters for crowds, being the closest large skiing resort to Melbourne. Grollo brought a new vision, transforming the village into a year-round destination with the addition of summer food, wine, music and sports events, a chapel (popular for weddings in a romantic setting) and a campus of La Trobe University.

The Grollo family’s support of skiing extended to building an Olympic snowsports training facility, which triggered Australia’s emergence as an unexpected star of freestyle aerials skiing, producing world champions Kirstie Marshall, Jacqui Cooper and Alisa Camplin.

Getting to Mount Buller
The Mt Buller Alpine Resort is 250km north east of Melbourne- just a short and manageable three hour drive. Mt Buller is clearly emerging as Australia's best all season alpine resort and the Alpine Retreat Ski Lodge is a family friendly best positioned accommodation property right in the heart.

Driving - to Mt Buller is easy. The scenery on the way is well worth taking your time to see and enjoy. If you're travelling during the winter season (June - October), remember to pick up chains along the way. You pay your resort entry (winter only) at Mirimbah where you will be advised of road conditions. Follow the well maintained sealed road up the hill and enjoy the many spectacular alpine views. In winter you will be met at the car parks by an attendant who will show you where to park. The 4WD over snow vehicles then meet you and take you to the Alpine Retreat Ski Lodge.

If you prefer you can leave the car in the valley. Mansfield Mt Buller Bus Lines provide regular services from Mansfields, Merrijig and Mirimbah, all co-ordinated through to your lodge. This means no chain hire and no mountain driving.

Flying - Mt. Buller, the closest ski resort to an international airport, has the advantage of servicing interstate guests efficiently and at great value prices. Travelling from interstate to Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport there are fantastic airfares available from the country's largest and most competitive airlines.
