Karelia Alpine Lodge can accommodate 45 guests in well appointed rooms, with full ensuite facilities, some rooms with balcony and television set. Much of the furniture and Austrian trimmings are hand carved to perfection by a master craftsman in the old traditional Romantic Tyrolian Alpine The minute you walk in you could be forgiven for thinking that you were in the Austrian / Swiss Alps.
Accommodation at Karelia Alpine Lodge
Karelia Alpine Lodge offers a variety of accommodation rooms all with full ensuite, electric heated towel rail, bar fridge and hairdryer. The rooms are fully carpeted and are centrally heated with manual controls in the rooms. All linen including and towels are supplied. Our house guests are advised to bring their own beach towel (for hot spa and sauna).Choose the style of room suitable to your needs.
Single Room - has one single bed only, while the Deluxe Twin Share Room has the two single beds. This is the finest twin share room accommodation in Falls Creek. The Tyrolian alpine furniture is uniquely designed and hand made to create the traditional Swiss atmosphere in the Aussie Alps. The twin share room has radio, cassette deck, alarm clock, real cuckoo clock, security locker, mini bar and full ensuite with heated towel rail and hair dryer. The rooms have ample space for your luggage.
Deluxe Double Room – features one double bed The Deluxe rooms are undoubtedly second to none in Falls Creek. All furniture is hand made and the room provides ample space for your luggage. The rooms have full ensuite, radio, cassette deck, alarm clock, cuckoo clock and dressing table with mirror.
Honeymoon Room – offers one double bed and private balcony. Unlike any other accommodation in Falls Creek, the honeymoon rooms are just something special. All furniture is hand made to Swiss Tyrolean style to give you the old and traditional European alpine feel. All honeymoon rooms have full ensuite, radio, cassette deck player, alarm clock, real cuckoo clocks, mini bar and some have television, plenty of luggage space and a balcony.
Penthouse – 2 bedroom - one room has a double bed and the other is a spacious four share. The Penthouse (Top of the Lodge) has adjoining rooms (similar to family room) and is fitted with a radio, cassette deck, alarm clock, cuckoo clock, dressing table, mini bar, colour television, video, private balcony and full ensuite with bath. The four shared room has lots of space under the eaves and full ensuite.
Family Room - the only family room in Falls Creek that has two adjoining rooms. One room has a double bed and the other is four share. The double room has a large storage space under the eaves and also includes radio, cassette deck, cuckoo clock, alarm clock, mini bar, dressing table and colour television. The four share is a large room with ample storage space, full ensuite and direct access to the Sundeck balcony.
Four Share Room - has two sets of bunks and can take an additional single bed (can sleep up to five people), while the Six Share Room has one double bed and two sets of bunks. This is a large room and can have two additional single beds (can sleep up to eight people).

Karelia Alpine Lodge Facilities
Relax in a deep leather lounge chair by the log fire place with a cool drink, watch colour television and video or simply just read books from our well appointed library. Complimentary coffee, tea, biscuits and cakes are available 24 hours.
The Lounge room is fitted with lots of European traditional alpine oil paintings, hand carved pictures and trees of wild animals and birds. The small and cosy house “guests only” bar, located on ground level has an extensive selection of wine and spirits complimenting your dinner to the utmost satisfaction. Our Tyrolean style dining room creates a perfect place for you to meet new people and make new friends or simply just discuss your skiing experiences with our other house guests.
The chalet has two restaurants. Upstairs is the guest restaurant catering for English and Continental style breakfast as well as a four course dinner for house guests’. Downstairs is the popular J.B's Restaurant offering authentic signature dishes such as Swiss style fondues (meat, cheese and chocolate), Czech style sirloin roast with dumplings, Hungarian goulash with dumplings, Austrian apple strudel just to mention a few. Our chefs are pleased to present an ever changing international cuisine menu designed to suit all palates. Our home style, hearty and tasty meals are the favourites of our return guests
After an exhilarating ski on the Falls Creek slopes, enjoy a glass of champagne while you soothe your tired muscles in our ever popular outdoor sauna and spa- the only outdoor combined hot spa and sauna exclusively for Karelia Lodge guests. If you follow the Scandinavian example, then you would know that a sauna and a slow roll over in the snow in between, is a very good remedy for easing rheumatic pains.
Getting to Karelia Alpine Lodge
By Car: A good sealed road leads right to the resort with ample day and long term parking for over 2000 cars. Chains must be carried in winter and fitted when directed.
Alternatively, cars can be left in the security car park at the base of the mountain in Mt. Beauty (30 km. downhill). A regular bus service (in winter) operates between Mt. Beauty and Falls Creek Village.
From Melbourne: 356 km - Four and a half to five hours drive via the Hume Highway through Myrtleford and Mt. Beauty.
From Sydney: 690 km - Eight hours drive via Goulburn, Albury-Wodonga and the Hume Highway.
From Canberra: 506 km - Six to seven hours drive via Yass and Albury-Wodonga.
From Adelaide: 958 km - Ten hours drive via Pinaroo, Ouyen and Swan Hill or alternatively via Bordertown and Shepparton.
From Brisbane: 1537 km - Fifteen hours drive.
By Coach: Daily coach services between Melbourne, Albury and Mt. Beauty in the winter season. Ski Connection services Adelaide.
By Plane: The nearest airport is at Albury. A coach connection approx. 2 hours provides transit to Falls Creek (120 kms).
