Accommodation at Astra Alpine Lodge Astra Alpine Lodge has just 24 double or twin guest rooms, all with private bathrooms; all with direct dial telephone, towelling robes, pool towels and flowers. The rooms are serviced discreetly each day. A recent addition to Astra's award winning accommodation is the Penthouse suite. Designed for those who wish to have spacious and luxurious surroundings, the penthouse offers stunning views of the village and mountains and is serviced daily. Astra's large lounge is replete with solid hide and glowing timber, and features a huge stone faced open fireplace. Relax by the fire with a cocktail from the fully licensed bar, discover tastes from distant lands in our Vodka bar, or choose a wine from the extensive cellar list. At Astra Alpine Lodge many guests meet each other for the first time in the indoor heated pool; which is reserved exclusively for guests. It adjoins a large circular spa and close by is the cedar lined sauna. In this area also is the massage room, with a trained masseuse in attendance completes this area of pure relaxation. Getting to Astra Alpine Lodge
By Car: A good sealed road leads right to the resort with ample day and long term parking for over 2000 cars. Chains must be carried in winter and fitted when directed. Alternatively, cars can be left in the security car park at the base of the mountain in Mt. Beauty (30 km. downhill). A regular bus service (in winter) operates between Mt. Beauty and Falls Creek Village.

From Melbourne: 356 km - Four and a half to five hours drive via the Hume Highway through Myrtleford and Mt. Beauty.

From Sydney: 690 km - Eight hours drive via Goulburn, Albury-Wodonga and the Hume Highway.

From Canberra: 506 km - Six to seven hours drive via Yass and Albury-Wodonga.

From Adelaide: 958 km - Ten hours drive via Pinaroo, Ouyen and Swan Hill or alternatively via Bordertown and Shepparton.

From Brisbane: 1537 km - Fifteen hours drive.

By Coach: Daily coach services between Melbourne, Albury and Mt. Beauty in the winter season. Ski Connection services Adelaide.

By Plane: The nearest airport is at Albury. A coach connection approx. 2 hours provides transit to Falls Creek (120 kms).
