Snow Skiing - enjoy the ease of a short 70 metre walk and you will be on the lifts and hitting the mountain as early as you like.
Snow Sports - Thredbo Snow Sports offers group and private lessons for all ages and stages. Thredbo’s instructors not only rip the hill with skill but also communicate with flare.
Beginners Tips - Thredbo provides the ultimate setting for learning to ride the mountain. Our Snow Sports instructors are renowned as the best in Australia and Thredbo even has a ‘learn to ski or board guarantee’.
Dining on the Mountain - Thredbo has a diverse blend of restaurants, bars and cafes, to tickle your tastes whatever your budget. From a la carte dining at it’s best to a quick and easy bite on the run.
Flare Run - Look to the skies and the Crackenback Supertrail for one of Thredbo’s finest traditions, the flare run and fireworks display. It lights up the village on Saturday nights and it’s a sure fire way to kick start a wicked time on the town.
Mountain biking - Thredbo offers the ultimate mountain bike experience for those after a rush on two wheels. You can peddle at leisure and explore the magic of the mountains or test your skill as you crank it down hill.
Night riding - If you have been cruising the slopes all day long and you are just itching for more, then a cruise under the stars is the ultimate option. You can link turns down Friday Flat every Thursday night, or step it up and take on the Crackenback Supertrail under lights on Saturday before you head out on the town.
Cross country - Drop the knee, free the heel and free the soul. Get back to the old school and take a lesson in telemark skiing- an exciting and challenging way to take on the resort and experience the back country.
Snowboarding - If you like strapping in and busting it downhill, then Thredbo is the playground for all your snowboarding adventures. Thredbo has the longest and most vertical terrain in Australia, which means less time traversing and more time riding. Best of all you can rest your legs on the way back up thanks to Thredbo’s many high-speed quad chairlifts.
Thredbo Leisure Centre - If you like it fun, fit and first-class then check out the Thredbo Leisure Centre. Located just 5 minutes walk from the Village Square, The Leisure Centre is open to everyone every day of the year except Christmas Day. You can pump up at altitude and fine tune your muscles, take part in a fitness class, swim a few laps in the Olympic sized heated pool, play all your favourite games in the huge sports hall, have a hit of squash or climb the boulder wall.
Alpine walks - Take a walk and enjoy Thredbo’s Winter Wonderland. There are a large variety of trails around the village and its surrounds. Take a step back in time as you discover Thredbo’s fascinating history, including the architectural and aboriginal history of the area.
Summer Activities…Once the snow melts
With its natural alpine beauty, year round cultural events, and activities for all ages, Thredbo is truly the place for all seasons. During summer the village is a hive of activity. The village shops are open as are an abundance of restaurants. Hop in a gondola to visit Eagle’s Nest, the highest restaurant in Australia, and enjoy this unique dining experience.
The Kosciuszko Express operates every day of the year and can have you at Top Station in about 10 minutes. From there you can bush walk to the Roof of Australia. A white Christmas is always possible, as Thredbo often has snowfalls during summer.
For those who like an adrenalin rush, mountain biking is big in these parts. You can take the chairlift to the top of the mountain and hurtle down the famous Cannonball Run. For a little more control in your adventure try the 700 metre Thredbo Bobsled Luge Ride.
