Rainbow Beach is located approximately 265 kilometres north of Brisbane, 76 kilometres east of Gympie and 700 metres west of Fraser Island on the Cooloola Coast, Queensland. Rainbow Beach - a gazetted Aboriginal sacred site - is a vibrant young town with a relaxed atmosphere, which has only been easily accessible since the early 1970's. The township is set on the edge of the rainbow coloured sand cliffs, overlooking the pretty Rainbow Beach down below. Getting to Rainbow Beach
Rainbow Beach is 2½ hours from Brisbane airport, or 1¾ hrs from Sunshine Coast airport by car. Drive north along the Bruce Highway towards Gympie, turn off to the right at the signs directing you to Fraser Island and Rainbow Beach. Once in Rainbow Beach turn right at Double Island Drive, and left at the second street, Cooloola Drive.

Bus services run daily to and from Rainbow Beach
Train services terminate at Gympie, where a connecting bus is available.
