The tours visit diverse and interesting places such as historical Cooktown, the Undara Lava Tubes (the Australian Outback), Cobbold Gorge and Tyrconnell Outback Experience and Historic Gold Mine.

Our most popular Reefwatch Surveillance Mission Air Tour is a ninety minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage Rainforests of Tropical North Queensland. With charter transfers to island resorts, most of our clients book scenic one way and direct the other; it's a fantastic way to see the Great Barrier Reef.

If you require more than Reef and Rainforest, our fleet of aircraft is also available for individual or group charter with extended itineraries as you wish. The Aircraft
Reefwatch Air Tours, a division of General Aviation Maintenance, operates Aero Commander 500S aircraft with 2 x AC680 and 2 x AC690 Turbine models. These aircraft are twin-engine with a large cabin, air-conditioning, low floor for easy access for passengers and an extremely good loading capacity for aircraft of their size and are very reliable, highly efficient and inexpensive to operate. Combined with a team of very experienced and dedicated operations staff - Reefwatch Air Tours is the perfect air charter alternative!

AC500S Shrike Commander - the fleet of Shrike AC500S specialist surveillance aircraft offer the safety of twin engines, the comfort of air-conditioning and the convenience of large bubble observation windows that allow room to use cameras and videos while giving a totally uninterrupted view of the magnificent scenery below.

AC690 Turbo Commander - The AC690 aircraft is the Reefwatch VIP Executive model with larger passenger and luggage capabilities. This aircraft is more suitable for longer haul transfers (for example, Kakadu to Hamilton Island) or for charters where time is of importance.

Location
Reefwatch Air Tours are located in the General Aviation area of the Cairns International Airport. Our reception lounge is located at the G.A.M. Hangar. We are a short five minute drive from the domestic or international terminals and only a ten minute drive from Cairns City.
