Course Options
4 Day Open Water Dive Course/ Day Reef trips
2 days pool and theory and 2 day trips to the Great Barrier Reef onboard day dive vessel - 4 dives
5 Day Open Water Dive Course/ Day Reef trips
2 days pool and theory and 3 day trips to the Great Barrier Reef onboard Osprey V day dive vessel with 3 dives for pleasure and experience - 7 dives.
5 Day Open Water Dive Course and Adventure Dive Course / Day Reef Trips
2 days pool/theory. 2 day trips on Osprey V and 4 training dives and 1 day trip on Osprey V with 3 Dives Plus Adventure Dive Course on 5th day includes Deep Dive, Navigation Dive and 1 elective Dive.
*Note: Government Environmental Management charge and Port Authority Administration levy is payable by all visitors to the Great Barrier Reef. Additional to pay - Fuel Levy per person per day, Australian Dive Medical (if not done prior) completed on first day of course, PADI Dive Manual and Certification Card Photos.

| 2. Advanced Open Water Dive Course | 
|
• Five training dives
• Extensive dive training briefings
• The course consists of 5 training dives
• Two core elements - Deep Dive and Navigation Dive
• A further 2 dives are required and normally involve either a Multi level Dive, Search and Recovery Dive and an Underwater Naturalist Dive.
There is also time between training dives for recreation dives and snorkelling. Up to 10 dives total during a three day advanced course

| 3. PADI Rescue Diver Course | 
|
Commencement dates on application
The PADI Rescue Scuba Diver course will expand your knowledge and experience level. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
Course Pre-requisites
• Must be a certified Advanced Open Water Diver .
• Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Scuba Diver Course)
• You require successful completion of a sanctioned CPR and First Aid Course within the past 24 months. A First Aid Course is offered to fulfill this requirement.
Course Details
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you will cover:
• Self-rescue and diver stress
• Emergency oxygen delivery systems
• Dive first aid
• Swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
• Emergency management and equipment
• Panicked diver response
• Underwater problems
• Missing diver procedures
• Surfacing the unconscious diver
• In-water rescue breathing protocols
• Egress (exits)
• First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
• Dive accident scenarios

4 Day Rescue Diver Course - 1 Day pool and theory, 3 Day trips onboard Osprey. Minimum Student numbers required: 2

5 Day Rescue Diver Course - 1 Day pool and theory, 3 Day trips onboard Osprey. Includes 1st Aid Course. Minimum Student numbers required: 2 Accommodation - own arrangements (we can assist in arranging this for you).
| 4. PADI Divemaster Courses | 
|
Take the first step in your diving career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a Down Under Dive Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training course develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
Course Pre-requisites
• PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver or qualifying certification from another training organisation
• PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training organisation
• Medical clearance signed by a physician at Down Under Dive
• 20 logged dives
• 18 years old

Course Details
Learn dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
Complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
Training exercises to test organizational and problem solving abilities
An internship or series of practical training exercises
Course Duration
14 Days - 6 Days Pool and Theory, 8 Day Trips on Osprey V including 16 Dives and 2 weeks experience available on completion
PADI Divemaster Qualifications allows you to:
• Work at dive centres, on liveaboard dive boats, yachts and exotic resort locations
• Assist PADI Instructors with students
• Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
• Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
• Teach PADI Discover Snorkelling programs
• Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
• Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences
• Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.
| 5. PADI Assistant Instructor Course |

The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You will not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you will also start learning the PADI System of diver education.

Duration: The course can vary from as little as three days to more than two weeks with Day trips only.
Course Pre-requisites
• PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organisation
• At least 18 years old
• Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives
• Hold a certified divers certificate for at least 6 months

• Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor

• Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
• Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
• Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course
