When time is limited, experience scenic travel with Kirkhope Aviation on an air tour to remote outback places of Australia. The ‘Outback’ stretches from the west coast of Western Australia through to the east coast of New South Wales and Queensland. But the ‘Outback’ is not mere desert regions and country towns, any place beyond the bustling modern cities of today, is often referred to as the ‘Outback’.

Kirkhope Aviation’s Aircraft
Experience Kirkhope Aviation air tours in a modern twin engine Piper Chieftain aircraft, where you travel through outback Australia as a small group, with both comfort and speed for the greatest holiday adventure you will have. The aircraft is rated for instrument flying, which allows departures and arrivals in most weather and at night (assuming the airstrip is suitable) and is the type commonly used in aircraft charter.

Comfort: The aircraft has 10 seats, however it is best suited for 6 to 8 passengers for the most comfort and space. The interior is set out in a corporate style 'club configuration', which allows four people in the middle of the aircraft to face each other. Entry is via a rear stair door, which allows for easy access for all ages. The aircraft also has air-conditioning, which is of great benefit at some of the warmer outback destinations, however it does not have an onboard toilet. This type of aircraft is commonly used in the outback and is very suitable and comfortable for these tours.

Fantastic Views: Being un-pressurised it's maximum altitude is 10,000 feet, however travelling at these heights is just right for getting the best views of the Australian landscape. It has large windows and hence every passenger has a good view, unlike most larger aircraft that generally have much smaller windows.

Luggage: Luggage can be loaded in the wing lockers and a forward nose locker. There is also some space for luggage at the rear of the cabin. As the lockers have a low height, bags need to be of the small soft overnight type. Hard suitcases are very difficult to stow. On outback tours we generally limit the luggage to 9kg per person.

Pilots: Our fully qualified pilots are well experienced with over 30 years flying around Australia. They are great guides, fun to travel with and you'll get to meet some of the many friends they have made over the years. Tours operate with one pilot who also acts as a tour guide, and your personal.

Pricing: Prices are quoted upon request. They are subject to season and other variables. All our quoted prices include all flying costs, accommodation, meals and ground tours. Prices include GST charges. Extra expenses include alcoholic beverages and personal items.

Note: Sometimes the particular aircraft pictured here may not be available for a specific trip. In these situations, a similar twin engine aircraft to that described here will be used.
